3 Birdies and a double bogey. Hitting my driver poorly still, going to switch shafts. Made some nice long putts.
Epic Vlog coming up, nearly passed out from heat exhaustion, lost 3 balls in the water, had a blast!
$120 course was only $40 green fee if you can take the heat in Palm Desert, CA Plus it was 7,100 yards with a slope of 135, so I am checking off all my excuses! Haha Still making dumb mistakes, hitting some really nice shots though, short game is not good. Playing Vlog up tomorrow morning. I was able to sneak away and get in 9 hole before sunset yesterday and play the front 9 at El Dorado, a nice course where the have the long beach Open, a pro event. The course was in good shape the greens were just a little slower and bumpier than normal because I started at 4:30 pm but all in all pretty good. I played really nicely, birdied both the par fives after bogeys on 1 and 3. First hole was just from not knowing the green speed and on the 3rd hole some guys let us play through and after being a little embarrassed about setting up the camera while they waited I quick hit a dead solid pull a little left that bounced way left, chipped and 2 putted for bogey. The next hole I hit a great drive and put it on the par 5 back fringe and chipped to 2 feet and made birdie. A few holes later on 7 I hit a perfect drive and went for the green with hybrid again and nearly dunked my shot in the greenside water but it skirted the wetness and was pin high I the rough. I hit a poor chip from there but made the 12 footer for birdie getting me back even. Small sample size but I played really nicely trying to have a quiet lower body and transition. |
