Still having inconsistency with the Driver but chipping and putting well, my inside 6 feet putting has been particularly good. I am still starting very early with my hips with the driver, getting stuck and flipping. Working on it a lot and hoping to start getting my misses closer to the center.

At rec park. I was chipping and putting really well but my driver continues to be a major problem. I'm always having to be defensive after my tee shot and scramble for par. After the nine I practiced a bit and I think I figured something out. A short game tip monte gave me was to accelerate like a mini-van not like a Ferrari, this worked well for my driver as well, I over accelerate my hips, then run out of hip, they stall and my hands flip thru impact. The mini van feel might synch me up better without really losing any distance. I am eager to get back out there and give it a go. Horror movie of every gross shot up soon.
On a positive note, I did a great job filming. I have decided that no matter how terrible I play, if I am filming it, I am going to publish it. I am keeping it real, in this case it will make me look like a complete hack. Everyone has those days super frustrating for me because I felt like I was making progess with my game, I don't think I've put the practice time in recently to be sharp enough and I was exposed. I did work on chipping with a less lofted club using a putting stroke with very little wrist bend and that worked nicely, I used it to get up and down on 2 par fives one for bird and one for par. Alas, the highlights of the day end there, I made 2 bomb putts but also 3 putted twice or 3 times which is VERY unlike me, I am usually a great putter. Also I am going to out it together and do a voiceover over the the video which I think will be better than talking to the camera. |
