See, following the BBG blog here pays off. Every once in a while I publish things on this blog MUCH earlier than they get made public on youtube. I think this video really explains what Dana wants his players to do with driver. I like it as well because I was hitting the ball great during our session!

I viewed this video a number of times and I viewed the Rory swing at least a dozen times. My unbiased observations are that Rory's swing is much more in line with what Bobby Lopez is teaching. It is very clear in the video he is lowering his arms at the same time he is restricting the opening of his shoulders on the early downswing. This is similar to Sergio's and many other pros. Dana seems to be indicating he wants you to open up sooner. This is a receipe for failure. You still struggle with opening up your shoulders too soon on the downswing which causes you too goat hump. In addition you still are too overactive with your right foot in the down swing which is a contributing factor to the goat hump. Look at McElroy vid. Does he do what you do in your swing? He keeps left shoulder back and restrained much longer into the downswing than you do while he is dropping his arms as Lopez teaches. Remember Sergio swing? This is a fundamental flaw with your swing. Until you can address this flaw there is little chance that you will improve your swing. Spend more time doing slow motion mirror work looking DTL and even record your movements. Stay away from hitting balls on the range (you will actually progress faster this way) until you can effect the proper change. This could take a while. This change, when done properly, will get the club more in front of you much sooner in the downswing and more on plane. You still look as if your tendency is a slight pull. What Dana is teaching will guarantee you get your arms stuck behind you and this will force you to actually come down steeper in order to hit the ball. You can even maybe get some Trackman data to confirm this if you have the resources. Do these motions in a mirror...see for yourself. I don't see Dana's teachings and what Lopez teaches as being mutually compatibile. Sorry for being the contrarian on this but when you are surrounded by too many yes men you will never get an honest assessment IMHO.

I take issue with Dana's instruction as it is incontrovertibly contradictory. At 9:37 in the video he tells you to bring the club head down as if it's "falling down along a wall behind you (during downswing)". This is similar to Bobby Lopez's instruction to "pull the chain" from the top similar to Sergio Garcia, or to pull an arrow from the quiver like Hogan did, etc... However, a little further on in the video (at 10:26) he contradicts himself by instructing you to "use your rotation (at the top)". He even demonstrates how to perform this motion (while instructing you to do this) and it is crystal clear at this point he is rotating his shoulders mostly horizontally from the top of the swing. Here is where there is conflict between his instruction. These 2 distinctly different motions he has instructed you to perform conflict with each other. It is not possible to drop your arms behind you so the club head "falls down along the wall" while also rotating your shoulders horizontally "using your rotation" as he demonstrated himself. This makes absolutely no sense and is not possible to perform both these movements simultaneously never mind while also dipping your lead hip and rotating your left hip backwards. This rotational shoulder movement, if done as he himself demonstrates, will immediately pull the club head away from the wall. This will cause you to come over the top steeply hitting down on the ball which is a motion you do not want. Good luck working out the mechanics of this motion in your swing. No, this is not an athletic movement as he states. This is simply paralysis by analysis. If this instruction does not confuse a student then nothing ever will. So the question remains...what happens from the top of the backswing, rotate horizontally, or pull your arms down keeping the club head moving down the wall similar to what Lopez is teaching? I'll leave that question for you to resolve. 9/5/2022 09:10:26 am
Really informative article, I had the opportunity to learn a lot, thank you. https://freecodezilla.net/smart-school-management-system-nulled/ 9/11/2022 02:53:37 pm
