Ok time to say where I was right and wrong after round 1. Check out yesterdays post to see what I guessed.
My best guess was when I told people to bet John Daly to make the cut. After a front 9 33 he was looking great but his close left a lot to be desired and he shot 71. You can't fault JD too much though the back is much harder than the front and the conditions got tougher as the day went on.
The draw really favored Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson. Spieth's crosshanded looking at the hole putting is AMAZING and he is in great form. A lot of people are saying that Dustin Johnson is too dumb to get nervous but I don't think that is true or fair, he does get nervous.
I forgot to mention anything about Tiger Woods and I was right to leave him out. He went out at the easiest time of the day and still shot 4 over. If he had an Afternoon Tee Time he wouldn't have broke 80. I am expecting good things from the Tiger tomorrow though, he will be close to the cut line but make no mistake, this is a step backwards for the 39 year old.
Rickie is a non factor so far, as predicted.
Louis Oosthuizen is playing great.
Anyone would just took all the top finishers from CHAMBERS BAY a month ago would be doing very nicely with DJ, Oost, Spieth, Day and Grace all near the top.
DJ and Jordan will have a good day tomorrow. If Phil can stop hitting so many 3 woods and play that normal Phil Mickleson golf he might vault up to the first page.
Stenson played bay, I bogeyed that one.
