I have been playing well recently. Still making some mistakes but the good shots are coming much more often (and I am putting well which helps a ton).
Yesterday I played 18. i shot -1 on the front with no bogeys, a great start for me.
The guy I was playing with, Nick, had made 5 birdies on the front (it pays to play with good players).
On 11, a severe dogleg right, I hit it low and solid and pulled left which stretched out the hole. My ball was sitting in the rough but a good lie 170 yards out, with a little breeze helping. I pulled out a 7 iron and executed the move I am working on perfectly. The ball came off the face like a dream sailed at the stick. It disappeared in the horizon for a second and then a really cool sound came out it was a simultaneous thud / stick hit and rattle all at the same time.
"It went in." nick said. "Slam dunked it"
Awesome feeling, awesome picture. A, 2 on a long par 4.
It destroyed the hole a bit taking a lot of earth down into the cup at the same time.
I shot even (never missed a shot just some very bad chips on 13 an 14).
Nick shot 66, (with 8 birdies) his career best round ever. He is trying out for the LA open in a month.
