In my journey to be better, the thing that has helped me more that anything else is getting my swing more in sync. It wasn't a unique problem to me either. So many golfers are out there trying to play with totally mismatched parts. The good news is it's not difficult to fix. You just need to dispel a few long held myths and work these drills.
Thanks to amazing instruction from Monte Scheinblum my swing is more in sync than ever and I am playing the most consistent golf of my life. The misses are straighter and the great shots happen much more ofter. Before my swing was matched up (between upper and lower body) golf was truly hit and hope, now I can miss to the right spots and that make course management possible and that's what playing golf is about.
In this over 1 hour video video Monte dispels those long held golf ideas about the swing and shows the drills he uses to get people synced up, I do an entire practice blog including what I am feeling and a few "off the wall" drills I used because I was such an extreme case.
In addition to that there is also amazing insight, instruction and drills from tour coach Dana Dahlquist (who has worked with tour pros Charles Howell III, James Hahn, Bio Kim, Daniel Summerhayes, Robert Rock, Brad Faxon, Grant Waite and many more). Dana offers a slightly different perspective on getting your swing in sync and includes explanation of the unique move his tour players work on and why it is so effective in eliminating "Slide and stall" on the downswing (he calls that fault "too much lateral force too soon" the most common problem with good amateurs).
It really is a great video and an awesome, productive way to support more great content on Be Better Golf. I can't wait for you guys to see it and send me your swings on instagram and share your progress!
It is available now right here.
Here is a small excerpt from Dana's portion of the video where he talks about the changes James Hahn made after he missed 7 cuts in a row and before he won the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour.
