If you want to see a grown man get so frustrated with his game that he throws a mini-tantrum on the 5th tee, here you go!
In my quest to be better there are going to be days like this and this. I have decided to share every part of my journey to be a lot better at golf and because of that there are going to be some embarrassing moments like this. It makes it worse when I am filming on the course and I know that every fat, or yanked shot I hit is going to be seen by thousands of golfers in a few days. Oh well.
The good part of it is that I can learn a lot from this video. Also I learn more from this bad 11 hole of golf than if I had shot my personal best (gosh I hope I catch that on video soon!).
I asked for swing comments from my YouTube subscribers an not surprisingly I got a lot of great ideas of how to improve. I think my diagnosis of my tee shot problem was correct. My right hip and right knee are going out towards the ball way too early, this gets the club stuck behind my body rotation, from that position you cannot control the club or face and anything can happen.
Using Monte Scheinblum's basket drill and left arm off the chest drill, I have gotten better at this on the range but as you guys know, taking it to the course isn't easy.
Something that a subscriber said to me in the comments has been helping recently though. In my transition, during the first part of my downswing I am feeling that the right hip is still rotating from the ball. This sounds really difficult but it isn't that hard to do and then results have been a more synced up connected swing.
Another friend and sub of mine Ray, owner/ inventor of the golf swing shirt, told me I need to start practicing with his device again, I just washed it and I am taking it out to the range today. He also told me to watch Henrik Stenson's swing, not sure why but probably because he gets his big arms out in front of his rotation so nicely.
Hopefully soon I can go low on my next vlog!
