A huge thank you to all of you who have watched and subscribed to my YouTube channel as Be Better Golf just passed 5,000 subscribers on YouTube!

I just started my Be Better Golf YouTube journey in May so it's great to hit that milestone in just a few months. It is just the beginning and I'm thrilled to take you along for the ride. Thanks again!

Hi Brendon
Just wanted to thank you for all you efforts and hard work. I'm a 68 year old golfer who has been playing for about 5 years. I am about a 16 hcp at this time.

I ran across your videos with Monte a month or two ago and have been following you guys since. I have been watching the "no turn cast drill" vids over and over.

This stuff makes a lot of sense to me. I tend to believe that "intent" is everything, so the quicker wrist set in the back swing and wrist dump in the down swing does seem counter-intuitive, but it does seem to work at least at this point in time.

I've had all the same issues as you, only at a lower level. I've always been a "scooper" with very high ball flights causing me to lose at least two club lengths.

So, yesterday at the range I decided to give it a try. I warmed up swinging a 7 iron back and through with no ball. Then I set up trying to imitate your video with Monte.

Picked my target and set up trying to copy the video with Monte. My swing thoughts were "set it quick and dump it quick."

My very first swing scared the crap out of me.....I knew that I had hit it thin, but the ball went low(er) and straight ~155 yards. This is with 45 degree range balls and my first swing in two months.

Then I remembered the "keep the head back" part of the video which made a huge difference. I must have hit 10 balls before a bad one popped up, and those were not horrible.

Next I tried the hybrid 3 and the 5 wood,,,,same results. Then I tried the driver off the tee. I use a "thriver" which is combo driver and three wood. It has 14.5 degrees of loft on a 460 cc head with a 43 inch TT DG r300 shaft.

Same swing thoughts as before, same results as before. Some hit were better than others, but no ob balls. I would say that 75-80 % were in or near the club face center.

I have always been a "low and slow" takeaway guy with a pause at the top, but I think I'm going to give the Monte method a fair try out this season.

BTW, love your video blog....you son is adorable.
